zingbus strengthens green mobility roadmap
Date: 23 Dec 2025
zingbus,
India’s leading intercity mobility platform, is strengthening its commitment to
sustainable travel as electrification and climate action continue to shape
long-distance mobility across India.
As
Punjab prepares to roll out an EV-friendly policy framework to encourage clean
mobility and infrastructure development, zingbus has already been advancing its
green intercity roadmap through real-world deployment. Over the past few years,
the company has focused on introducing electric intercity buses, integrating
bio-toilet systems, and embedding climate-positive operational practices across
its network.
As
part of this sustainability roadmap, zingbus has deployed electric intercity
buses on select high-demand corridors and rolled out bio-toilet systems across
multiple services. This integrated approach supports zero-tailpipe-emission
travel while also improving onboard hygiene and enabling water conservation
reflecting a holistic view of green mobility where cleaner propulsion and
responsible resource use go hand in hand.
Through
its EV and sustainability initiatives, zingbus has helped neutralise over
593,000 kg of CO2 emissions, measured in partnership with its climate-impact
partner Climes. These initiatives convert environmental intent into measurable,
real-world outcomes.
Prashant
Kumar, Co-founder of zingbus, said “At zingbus, sustainability is being built
into the very foundation of intercity travel. From deploying electric buses on
long-distance corridors to integrating bio-toilets and climate-positive
operations, our focus is on translating intent into measurable impact. As
India’s EV ecosystem evolves, we are committed to scaling solutions that reduce
emissions, conserve resources, and make greener intercity mobility practical,
comfortable, and accessible for millions of travellers.”
The
climate impact achieved through these efforts is substantial and tangible. It
is equivalent to growing 9,786 saplings over a period of 10 years, avoiding
272,835 days of household electricity consumption, and diverting 25,207 bags of
waste from landfills through responsible recycling. Together, these outcomes
reflect a meaningful contribution toward reducing environmental strain,
conserving natural resources, and advancing long-term sustainability goals.
For
zingbus, sustainability is not a single intervention but a system embedded into
how intercity travel operates from cleaner propulsion and improved onboard
hygiene to efficient long-distance route planning and operational optimisation.
Alongside
EV buses, the introduction of bio-toilets across multiple services has enhanced
passenger comfort while addressing sanitation and water conservation at scale.
Together, these initiatives reduce environmental load and make sustainable
intercity travel more practical for long-haul journeys.
With
state-level EV initiatives creating an enabling environment for cleaner
mobility, zingbus continues to align its deployments with long-term
sustainability goals. The company is currently in advanced stages of deploying
electric buses on high-demand intercity corridors, including the Delhi–Amritsar
route, demonstrating how electric mobility can effectively power long-distance
travel beyond city limits.
